Why Choose Life’s an Adventure for the Three Capes Walk?

Why Choose Life’s an Adventure for the Three Capes Walk?

When we launched our Three Capes Walk, there were no huts inside the National Park. There were no commercial lodge developments. There was simply one of the most spectacular coastal landscapes in Australia, existing walking tracks, and a remote peninsula community working hard to make a living. Life’s an Adventure was the original guided operator on the Three Capes. We began operating before National Parks constructed their hut system and before other companies built private lodges along the track. From the very beginning, we chose to utilise the existing trail network and support the small businesses already established on the Tasman Peninsula. That philosophy has never changed.

Walk Pack-Free, the Way Nature Intended
At Life’s an Adventure, walking is about immersion, not endurance. Our Pack-Free experience means your overnight luggage doesnt need to be carried. You carry only a light day pack with your water and lunch. No heavy loads. No 7kg “light packs” that quickly become 10kg once water is added. No sore shoulders. Just you, the track, and uninterrupted coastal beauty. We believe walking holidays should feel inspiring, not exhausting.

Stay Local. Dine Local. Support Local.
From the outset, we partnered with locally owned accommodation and restaurants across the Tasman Peninsula. Guests stay at the beautiful Stewarts Bay Lodge, in spacious private chalets surrounded by bushland and ocean views. After a day on the trail, you return to comfort, privacy and a peaceful night’s sleep in a proper bed. Evenings are spent enjoying exceptional local dining, including the renowned 1830 Restaurant & Bar overlooking the historic Port Arthur site. Fresh Tasmanian produce, regional wines, seafood and seasonal ingredients are thoughtfully prepared and fully included. By choosing existing local businesses, we ensure tourism dollars remain within the peninsula community.

Walking Without Overdevelopment
Tasmania’s wilderness is precious. From the beginning, our approach has been simple: use existing infrastructure, minimise environmental impact and walk softly. We do not build inside National Parks. We do not construct new accommodation in fragile environments. Instead, we rely on established tracks, eco-transfers and partnerships with local communities. There has been ongoing public discussion about commercial development within Tasmania’s protected areas. We encourage travellers to inform themselves and make their own decisions. For us, the path has always been clear… support local communities, protect wild places and ensure our Three Capes Walk leaves a light footprint.

Flexible. Small Group. Award-Winning
Every traveller walks differently. That’s why our Three Capes experience offers:

• Flexible walking distances
• Private transfers
• Rest options when desired
• Small groups led by highly trained guides

Our award-winning guides are among the most experienced in Australia. Passionate, knowledgeable and caring, they ensure every guest feels supported. Life’s an Adventure is a multi-award-winning Australian operator, recognised with 21 Tourism Awards of Excellence for innovation, sustainability and guest experience.

Trusted by Over 5,000 Walkers
Since launching our Three Capes Walk, we have welcomed more than 5,000 guests to the Tasman Peninsula. Our experience consistently achieves an average overall guest rating of 9.13 out of 10, with accommodation rated 9.06 out of 10. And our guiding? Guests regularly score our guides more than 10. When guests feel compelled to exceed the maximum score entirely, it speaks volumes about the care, professionalism and passion of our guiding team. These results are drawn from verified post-tour guest surveys and reflect years of consistent delivery. Experience matters. So does trust.

The Original, Still Authentic
