Sep 14, 2026

Tasmania is a brilliant walking destination from spring through to autumn, but each month offers something different.

A group of people from Life's An Adventure walk along a sandy beach near the ocean, each carrying backpacks. They are heading towards distant green hills under a clear blue sky. The sand has wavy patterns, indicating receding water—a perfect scene for walking tours in Tasmania.

Whether you’re chasing wildflowers, warmer weather, autumn colour or long days on the trail, these are some of the best times to explore Tasmania on a Life’s An Adventure pack-free guided walk.

September: Spring is arriving, with longer days, emerging wildflowers and a freshness in the air. Coastal walks such as Bruny Island, Maria Island and the Three Capes are good options as the walking season gets underway.

October: One of the best shoulder-season months. The weather is warming, spring flowers are appearing and there are fewer walkers than during the summer peak. It’s a great time for Freycinet, the Tarkine and Maria Island.
