Want to walk the Overland Track? Try us first!
Want to experience Tassie’s iconic Overland Track but not keen on spending seven days on the trail, carrying a full pack? Or maybe you want to try a part of it first before deciding if you want to do the whole thing another time.
Fear not! Life’s an Adventure is here to help!
So, what is the Overland Track?
The Overland Track in central Tasmania is a must-do for nature lovers and adventure seekers.
This iconic 65km trail takes you through some of Australia’s most spectacular wilderness, including towering mountains, dense rainforests, alpine lakes, and rugged landscapes. Along the way, you’ll encounter diverse wildlife and experience the tranquillity of remote natural beauty.
The challenge of the hike – ranging from moderate to difficult – makes reaching the end even more rewarding. Whether you’re looking to disconnect, test your endurance, or simply marvel at Tasmania’s pristine environment, the Overland Track offers an unforgettable journey through one of the world’s most unique ecosystems.
Our pack-free guided walk
On our 4-day Cradle Mountain pack-free guided walk you’ll get to walk part of the iconic Overland Track with just a day pack.
You’ll explore magnificent Crater Lake, Lake Lila, Dove Lake and for those who are up to the challenge… a walk to the summit of Cradle Mountain.
These are all parts of the Overland Track – in fact you may see some hikers carrying their heavy loads who are doing the whole walk, and you might think, “God I’m glad that’s not me!” or “Well that looks ok, I might come back and do the walk!”
But while you’re with us you won’t be staying in some crowded public hut filled with the thunderous hiss of competing fuel stoves or trying to sleep whilst half the people you’re sharing a room with are snoring like a chainsaws.
Nope! For your two nights you’ll be staying at the iconic Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge set on the edge of the wilderness with stunning alpine views.
You’ll be staying in the warm, comfy Pencil Pine Cabins featuring gas fires, queen sized bed and a single bed and contemporary decor and furnishings.
As for meals, it won’t be freeze dried pasta washed down with some chlorine-flavoured water.
Nope! You’ll be feasting on pressed Scottsdale pork belly, cauliflower purée, chilli caramel OR Cape Grim hanger steak, wild mushroom jus, corn salsa, lime OR maybe line-caught white fish, ginseng rub, softened greens, lemon butter – and of course whatever you choose will be washed down with a bloody good local pinot noir!
So after you’ve experienced the Overland Track our way will you want to go back and try it the hardcore way? Up to you!
