Walking Nepal, Supporting Communities When They Need Us

Sep 14, 2026

When we heard about the devastating floods in Nepal, we knew we had to do our part to help.

That’s why we’re donating 100 per cent of the profits from our March 2027 Nepal tours to Nepal’s Prime Minister’s Disaster Relief Fund, following the recent disaster.

Although none of our tours or guests were affected, the floods have deeply saddened all of us at Life’s An Adventure. Over the years, we’ve developed a strong connection with Nepal and its people, particularly the local guides, drivers, hoteliers and communities who help make our walking experiences so special.

A vibrant aerial view of Pashupatinath Temple in Kathmandu, Nepal, evokes the spirit of a Vietnam Laos and Cambodia Walking Adventure, with golden-roofed temples, shrines, and white stupas beneath a blue sky dotted with clouds and people gathering below.

Importantly, the Annapurna region we visit on our March 2027 tour has not been affected by the flooding. We believe continuing to visit safe and unaffected parts of Nepal is one of the most meaningful ways Australians can support local communities while contributing to the country’s recovery.

“Like so many Australians, we have a great affection for Nepal and its people,” says Life’s An Adventure owner Mark Norek. “The recent floods have been heartbreaking to see. While the areas we visit have not been affected, we wanted to find a meaningful way to contribute. Tourism supports local guides, drivers, hotels, restaurants, families and communities, and Nepal needs that support.”

Our Authentic Nepal & Annapurna Heli Experience is a seven-day, pack-free walking adventure through the lower-altitude foothills of the Annapurna region. It’s designed for travellers who want to experience the Himalayas without committing to a long and demanding high-altitude trek.

We walk through traditional Gurung villages, terraced farmland and forests, with spectacular mountain scenery throughout. Along the way, we meet local people, visit a village school and enjoy a cultural performance by a local women’s group in Ghandruk. Quieter trails also allow us to experience a more intimate side of Nepal, away from the busiest trekking routes.

Our adventure culminates with a spectacular helicopter flight to Annapurna Base Camp, taking us into the heart of the high Himalayas, surrounded by towering peaks including Annapurna I and Machhapuchhre, or Fishtail Peak.

For us, it’s more than a walking holiday. It’s a chance to experience an extraordinary country while helping support the people who make that experience possible.
