Travel Advice Update on our tours

LATEST TRAVEL ADVICE

As you will be aware, as a result of COVID-19 the travel industry worldwide has been significantly impacted. We understand this is a stressful time for all involved, and we appreciate your understanding and patience as we work through tackling this unprecedented event which is unfolding daily.

The health and well-being of our guests, guides and supplier partners are paramount to us. Rest assured we are monitoring this rapidly evolving situation and watching advice daily from government authorities. At this stage no one knows how long this situation will play out and what travel restrictions lay ahead in the immediate future. Here is some advice on the status of all our current tours. Please note we have implemented an Amendment to our standard Booking Terms and Conditions to address this unprecedented event. See details under cancellation policy below.

Upcoming Tour Status

Australian Tours
All Australian tours are running as scheduled. No tours have currently been affected. If you are travelling get ready to get away from all this Coronavirus talk and get out in the wilderness for some fresh air and stunning scenery.

New Zealand Tours
As the New Zealand government announced on the 14th March a 14 day self isolation order for all travellers coming into New Zealand we are unable to run our last remaining tours for this season in March and April 2020. All guests currently booked will be moved over to a future departure which should be taken in the next 18 months. Tours start again from October 2020 onwards. See updated amendment to our Booking conditions below. No surcharge applies. Please contact our office to reschedule your tour, all dates are listed on our New Zealand website pages.

Camino Walks – France, Spain and Portugal
At present the situation is uncertain in Europe for travel over the next six months. Our guests concerned about their tour have the option to move their tour to a departure later this season or a future 2021 departure. Transfers to alternative dates must be made 35 days or more before your original departure date. See updated amendment to our Booking conditions below and a surcharge fee which will apply. Please contact our office if you wish to reschedule your tour to later in 2020 or 2021. All dates are listed on our Camino website pages.

United Kingdom Tours
At present the situation is uncertain in the UK for travel over the next six months. Our guests concerned about their tour have the option to move over to a departure later this season or a future 2021 departure. Transfers to alternative dates must be made 35 days or more before your original departure date. See updated amendment to our Booking conditions below and a surcharge fee which will apply. Temporary Amendment to our Booking Terms & Conditions for all existing bookings.

The outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic is a force majeure which is an event that occurs outside of the reasonable control of either party. Due to this anomaly, we have had to develop a temporary amendment to our standard booking conditions. We understand such a situation could mean that due to a cancellation of your trip, our clients would suffer considerable losses due to most Travel Insurances not covering these circumstances and Life’s An Adventure suffering unrecoverable costs for pre-payments we have had to make to accommodation and suppliers.

CANCELLATION POLICY AMENDMENT

If you cancel or we are forced to cancel
 due to a force majure, you can choose from the following options based on your payments already made:

  • Cancellation of your trip booking before final payment is made.
    If you have only made a deposit on your booking, you can choose to transfer your deposit to an alternative tour within 18 months from the date of cancellation. No cancellation fee or surcharge will occur.
     
  • If you have paid in full and cancel at least 35 days prior to departure, we will hold your money and transfer you to a future trip taken within 18 months from the date of cancellation. A fee of $250 per person will be charged for unrecoverable costs. (Fee does not apply to March & April New Zealand tours).

  • If you have paid in full and cancel at 34 days or less prior to departure, we will charge a 50% cancellation fee and hold the remaining 50% as credit towards a future trip taken within 18 months from the date of cancellation. 

Note: No refunds are available. Transfer of your booking into another person’s name is permitted. Where surcharges are needed for unrecoverable costs, this fee will need to be paid a minimum of 2 weeks before the start of your revised tour date departs. Please note that the above amendment conditions apply to Life’s An Adventure tours only, please consult your airline about their transfer fees and charges.

Travel advisories

Because we are an Australian-owned company, if the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade’s (DFAT) advisory level for a destination is at ‘Do Not Travel,’ Life’s An Adventure will either cancel the trip or reroute the itinerary to avoid the areas concerned.
