We spend 2 nights here at the waterfront Furneaux Lodge. Enjoy time to relax in your suite soaking up the views, or take a swim int he Sound before meeting the group for a sensational a la carte dinner featuring local produce and superb Marlborough Sounds wines.
After breakfast, we enjoy a scenic boat cruise to pretty Punga Cove to start our day’s walk, today we will traverse the ridge and walk into our accommodation. This is the most rewarding section of the journey, from the top of the ridge you will take in magnificent panoramas of the Sounds. We start our gradual climb out of Camp Bay to Kenepuru Saddle and follow the ridge separating Queen Charlotte Sound from Kenepuru Sound. The last section of our walk down to the water. From here we transfer by water back to Furneaux Lodge. Enjoy time to relax in your room or simply soak up the views. Tonight the group comes together for dinner in the restaurant served with New Zealand’s fine wines and delicious cuisine.
After breakfast, our walk sets out from Endeavour Inlet, named after one of Captain James Cook’s ships. From Endeavour Inlet the track stays near the shoreline and wanders through regenerating forest rich in small bird life. The track continues around Big Bay, passing through native forest and traversing over low saddles offering amazing vantage points for the photographer. The gradual descent curls along the shoreline to Camp Cove.
Enjoy a late lunch at Furneaux Lodge while waiting for our private boat transfer through the Marlborough Sounds back to Picton, what a magnificent way to finish our 3-days of walking.
