WALK ITINERARY: You start your walk where you ended yesterday, after a lovely breakfast at the Carrington. We start with a little detour taking you to the falls lookout where you can watch Gordon Creek flow over the cliff, and land 200 metres down into the canyon. When the views are taken in, you continue your walk surrounded by lush eucalyptus forests, with towering cliffs appearing in the gaps between the leaves. You continue on this path to Leura falls, a smaller but picturesque waterfall. You continue slowly descending into the valley, where the trees grow thicker and higher. You find yourself in Leura forest, a perfect place to rest up and have a well deserved lunch. After lunch you continue your walk past the three sisters, with views of the canyon breaking through the forest once in a while. This is the best place to spot some of the local wildlife before you reach the scenic railway that takes you up the cliff. The scenic railway is renowned for being the steepest passenger railway in the world, providing a little excitement, and marvellous views. At the top you follow the ridge back to Katoomba where you can indulge in another exquisite dinner accompanied by fine wine at the Carrington Hotel, a well-deserved reward for your endeavours.

Day 4: Six Foot track Megalong Creek to Winery
Grand Cliff and Six-Foot Track Highlights Walk

TRAIL NOTES: 11 km, downhill, 4-5 hours, medium grade

TERRAIN: The walk starts on a wide, well-formed gravel track before becoming a narrow, natural foot track and later using wide, gravel roads.. There is a steep descent with formed steps. Some sections of the track can be uneven with slippery rocks and there are some creek crossings and stiles (ladders over fences).

WALK ITINERARY: Savour another breakfast at the Carrington in Katoomba before heading off with our guides, you will transfer to the start of the 6-foot track trail. Currently due to renovations of Jenolan Caves the Historic 6-foot track can not be completed in its entirety. This is why we have incorporated one of the highlight sections of the track into this amazing Blue Mountain adventure. You travers down to a local winery with stunning views all the way there. You start by making your way through the rainforest of Nellies Glen as we descend the Blue Mountains escarpment. Make sure you look up on the way to see the dramatic views above you. Walk through rural areas complete with horses and cows that may come to the fence to say hello until we reach the local winery in the Megalong Valley with spectacular views over the Blue Mountains escarpment, vineyards, green forest, and rolling hills. Here you will enjoy a BBQ lunch and wine tasting marking the end of your journey. After lunch you will be brought back to Katoomba, finishing the tour at 3 pm.
