In the south-west corner of Western Australia lies the famous Margaret River wine region and the spectacular Cape to Cape walk. The Cape to Cape track covers a massive 135 kilometres, stretching from the lighthouses of Cape Naturaliste in the north to Cape Leeuwin in the south. On our 4-day Pack Free walk, we showcase the best walking sections of this coastline, wandering along high limestone cliffs for magnificent views as well as meandering through pretty coastal heathland and idyllic forests.
This 4-day walk has been carefully designed so you can experience a range of landscapes in the National Park, indulge in sensational Margaret River wines at two wineries and see the stunning landscape from the air by helicopter. This is truly a memorable bucket list walk.

We have designed this walking holiday so you can enjoy the scenery without the heavy burden of carrying your clothes or a heavy pack. Walk with as little as your camera and water each day and we will take care of your bags being transported to your accommodation each day.

You’ll be delighted by the 5-star Pullman Bunker Bay Resort as soon as you enter the main foyer with its striking stonework perfectly complementing the stunning high pitched wood ceilings. The Resort features impressive ocean views and a spectacular infinity pool, a wonderful location to return to after a day’s walking. The delightful lounge and bar in the main building with their cosy fireplaces are a great place to relax and meet up pre-dinner. Dinners will be a la carte dinner in the Resort’s “Other Side of the Moon” Restaurant featuring modern Australian Cuisine and accompanied by Margaret River wines.

DEPARTURE TIME: 7.30am
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 2 hours and 50 minute transfer from Perth to Injidup to start your walk. Afternoon: 22 minute transfer from end of the trail to our accommodation.
TRAIL DETAILS: 7.5kms. 4 hours walking with breaks. Easy Walk. Grade 2.
TERRAIN: Largely clear and well maintained. Some uneven sections with rocky limestone surfaces and some beach walking. Short inclines onto and off beaches, usually with stairs.
WALK ITINERARY: Meet your guides in the foyer of the DoubleTree Hotel Northbridge, Perth at 7.30am for your transfer to Margaret River. (Approximately 3 hours drive). Today enjoy a relaxing walk from Injidup to Smiths Beach. Meander past vibrant granite formations, lagoon-like bays and limestone cliffs. Take in the remarkable Canal Rocks and the numerous picturesque lookouts, while you wander through scenic bushland. Upon arrival at beautiful Smiths Beach, you will be met by our logistic guide and enjoy a short transfer to our accommodation at the superb 5-star Pullman Bunker Bay Resort, settle in an unpack once as we spend 3 nights here, with short transfers to the trail every day. Enjoy free time to take a swim in the infinity pool or relax in our villa before joining the group for dinner in the charming Other Side of the Moon Restaurant, enjoy a la carte dining accompanied with Margaret River regional wines. A great way to finish the day.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 5 minute transfer from the accommodation to the start of your walk. Afternoon: 22 minute transfer from the end of the trail to our accommodation.
TRAIL DETAILS: 16kms. 8 hours with breaks. Medium walk. Grade 3.
TERRAIN: Largely clear and well maintained trail; some steps. The walk starts with a few kilometres of sealed path and boardwalk before becoming a natural trail with sections of sand, a short beach walk and some rocky sections. It is rolling country, so expect a few ‘undulations’. The last few kilometres uses dirt vehicles tracks.
WALK ITINERARY: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before setting out from our accommodation to the start of our walk. Today’s walk will take you from Cape Naturaliste lighthouse back to Smiths Beach. You will start off at the beautiful cliff-top scenery of Cape Naturaliste and meander towards the spectacular panoramas of Sugar Loaf Rock. Sugar Loaf Rock is a remarkable granite island-like rock formation situated in the ocean and it is the summer residence for red-tailed tropic birds. The coast mainly exists of limestone cliffs, short beaches and low rocky areas. After continuing from Sugar Loaf Rock you will carry on towards the coastal hamlet of Yallingup while strolling along an extended section of carved limestone sea cliffs. After Yallingup, you will wander over the granite headland at Torpedo Rock before reaching Smiths Beach. Afterwards, enjoy a short transfer back to the Pullman Bunker Bay Resort. Tonight indulge in a sensational dinner at a local winery, accompanied by wonderful wines from the estate.
Note: A shorter 14km walk is available today, ending at Yallingup instead of Smith’s Beach.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 30 minute transfer from the accommodation to the start of your walk. Afternoon: 25 minute transfer from the end of the trail to our accommodation.
TRAIL DETAILS: 13kms. 6.5 hours with breaks. Medium walk. Grade 3.
TERRAIN: Some moderate descents and ascents and short inclines onto and off beaches, usually with stairs. Some uneven sections of rocky limestone. Overall the track is well maintained on a firm surface and combination of narrow, natural foot track and old roads. Expect some patches of sand and creek crossings.
WALK ITINERARY: After a lovely breakfast, we transfer to the start of our walk at Moses Rock. Today our walk will take us from Moses Rock to Grace Town. During this walk, marvel at the glorious panoramas of the coast from cliff-top lookouts and the looming granite-gneiss of Wilyabrup. You will pass through the low heath and low granite headland, known as Whaleback. Before reaching Gracetown, wander through an enchanting section with lichen-covered rocks and heaps of pink fairy orchids in spring. Afterwards, we transfer to our accommodation at the Margarets Beach Resort for a superb dinner, accompanied with local Margaret River wines.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 20 minute transfer from the accommodation to the start of your walk. Afternoon: 3 hour transfer from local winery back to Perth.
TRAIL DETAILS: 6kms. 3 hours with break. Easy walk. Grade 2.
TERRAIN: A bit of everything today; a creek crossing, beach walking, good surfaces using a series of vehicle tracks but mostly natural trail. There’s a steep descent over boulders, aided by a chain and sections of sandy trail. Some moderate descents and ascents.
WALK ITINERARY: Enjoy a hearty breakfast before we head out for our last walk. Today we start at the favourite local surfing and fishing spot, the historic Redgate Beach. During the walk, we enjoy beautiful views in both directions from granite outcrops and we might even spot some kangaroos. The walk from Bob’s Hollow to Contos is possibly the most impressive section of the Cape to Cape Track, with breathtaking panoramas north and south. From here we transfer to a local winery for lunch. Here you’ll also get to experience a scenic helicopter flight to see aerials views of this beautiful region.
After lunch at approximately 2.30pm, we will transfer the group back to Perth.
WALK ITINERARY: Arrive back to Perth at approximately 6.00pm.
8 DAY OPTION:
Alternatively, you can extend your tour and do an 8-day walk which includes 4 days walking the highlights of the Bibbulmun Track. For those doing our 8-day tour, we will travel from a local winery on day 4 to Pemberton and spend the night in the Karri Forest. Click here for more details on this tour.

PAST PASSENGER DISCOUNT: Those who have travelled with Life’s An Adventure previously, receive a past passenger discount of $100. This discount will automatically be deducted from future bookings when you book online using the same email address used for past bookings.
EARLYBIRD & SPOT SPECIAL CANCELLATIONS: Refunds or cancellations are not permitted for Earlybird Deals or Spot Specials, however, transfers to another date are permitted 8 weeks or more prior to departure. We advise taking out travel insurance, in case unexpected circumstances prior to the trip, prevent you from joining this tour. Early bird or Spot Special discounts cannot be used in conjunction with another offer. To receive these special discounts, full payment must be made at the time of initial booking. Additional Information
- Prices are per person in Australian dollars and include GST.
- A deposit of $300 per person is required to secure your booking. (unless taking advantage of Earlybird or Spot Specials in which full payment is required at time of booking).
- Note: If you are booking within 90 days of your departure date – we will require full payment at the time of booking
- Prices are based on twin share of rooms. If you are travelling solo you may be required to share with someone of the same gender. If this is not suitable you can request to pay a single supplement, however, limited single rooms are available per trip so are on a request basis.
- No Credit Cards fees.
