9 Day Bibbulmun and Stirling Ranges walk

Bibbulmun and Stirling Ranges Walk

A guided 9 day Pack-Free walk

This fantastic 9 day Pack Free walk showcases the highlights of the long-distance Bibbulmun Track and Stirling Ranges in the South West region of Western Australia. The Bibbulmun track covers 1000kms from Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to Albany. With a distance of over 1000kms, to do the walk in its entirety would take around 8 weeks, instead, we have hand-picked the best sections of this track. The Bibbulmun Track has a deep indigenous connection and derived its name from the Bibbulmun people, a subgroup of the Noongar, who originally populated the south-west corner of the state. Discover varied landscapes and wine regions on this sensational 9-day journey. Walk through the stunning and tranquil South West Forests with their towering karri and tingle trees, including pretty Beedelup Falls near Pemberton.

The Stirling Range National Park is the only major mountain range in Western Australia’s southern portion. Sharp cliff walls, sheltering gullies, breathtaking views, and a great diversity of unusual and colourful wildflowers characterise the rocky summits, which reach more than 1000 metres above sea level. With 1500 species, the park is one of the world’s most important flora hotspots, with many of them growing nowhere else.

Explore some of Australia’s most magnificent coastline with their giant granite boulders, stunning beaches and flowering heathlands. You will be staying at the best boutique accommodation and sampling some of the finest wines and produce of this region. WA’s South Coast is sure to enchant your every sense.

At a height of 700 metres there is a large flat rock, beyond which the trail becomes steeper and requires some rock scrambling. Ripple marks can be seen on the rocks on Mt Hassell, evidence that the ranges were once covered by a shallow sea. After our walkers lunch we drive a short distance to Talyuberlup trailhead Walk, the most dramatic rocky peak in the Stirling Ranges. Whilst only 783 metres high, it has been described as having a castle-like summit. The trail firstly winds through an area of low woodland and further on rises steeply up a gully before it heads for the base of the cliffs and then along a cliff line. It enters a large cave underneath the summit, from where you emerge onto the peak of Talyuberlup.
