The Stirling Ranges are renowned for their incredible variety of wildflowers, with 1,500 species making the park one of the world’s most important flora hotspots. Many of these plants are endemic, found nowhere else on Earth. As you explore the park’s dramatic terrain, you’ll encounter a colourful array of flowers, adding a vibrant touch to the rugged scenery.

DEPARTURE TIME: 9am
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 3 hour transfer from Perth to the Kodja Place. 1.5 hour transfer from the Kodja Place to Mt. Hasell.
Afternoon: 35 minute transfer from Mt. Hassell to Karribank Porongurup.
TERRAIN: Hassel trailhead peaks at 847 metres. It starts gently, has sections of scree and then requires a rocky scramble to the top.
WALK ITINERARY: Meet your guides in the foyer of the DoubleTree by Hilton Waterfront Hotel for your comfortable ride to the cultural landmark, The Kodja Place. Here, amidst the backdrop of Australia’s rich history, you’ll enjoy a traditional lunch of billy tea and damper, providing a taste of the local heritage. A ‘welcome to country’ ceremony offers an intimate glimpse into the indigenous culture, connecting you to the land and its original caretakers. The adventure continues with a drive to Mt. Hassell, where you will embark on a 2-hour trek through the breathtaking landscapes of the Stirling Ranges, surrounded by wildflowers. This walk has fewer steps than some of the other peaks, beginning gently and then followed by steeper sections. At the top There is a flat rock, in which ripple marks are found evidence that the ranges were once covered by ocean waters. After making it back down Mt. Hassell, you will be taken to the Karribank Hotel. In the evening a dinner accompanied by the region’s exquisite wines awaits, rounding off the first day of your adventure.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 45-minute transfer from accommodation to Bluff Knoll.
Afternoon: 1 hour transfer from Bluff Knoll to Gilbert Wine. 30 minute transfer from Gilbert Wine to accommodation
TRACK DETAILS: 6.8kms Bluff Knoll track. 4-5 hours with breaks.
TERRAIN: This moderate trail is well signed and takes you to the top of Bluff Knoll, 1098 metres above sea level, via a steep path with numerous step to negotiate.
WALK ITINERARY: After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll head to Bluff Knoll, the jewel of the Stirling Ranges reaching a height of 1073 metres. The 6.8 km walk, taking 4-5 hours, will challenge and reward you with panoramic vistas that are simply unparalleled. The path from the car park descends to a creek, before leading you up with constant stunning views of the surroundings and the famous wildflowers. Midway, a picnic lunch will be served amidst the wilderness, allowing moments of reflection in nature’s embrace. The afternoon brings a delightful contrast with a wine tasting session at Gilbert Wines, where the region’s flavours will tantalise your palate. The region is most famous for its Riesling, but has plenty for any wine drinker to indulge in. Transfer back to your hotel to unwind from your walk, before making your way to a local restaurant for a lovely wine-paired dinner.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 10 minute transfer to the start of the trail. Then short transfers to Ironwood and to the next trail. Afternoon: 10 minute transfer from Castle Rock to accommodation.
TRACK DETAILS: Nancy’s Peak Circuit – 5km, 3-4hours. Medium Grade. Castle Rock Walk – 4km, 2.5 hours with breaks. Medium/Difficult grade.
TERRAIN:Both tracks are suitable for most fitness levels. Tracks may have short steep hill sections with some rough surfaces. The summits are between 570 – 652 metres.
WALK ITINERARY: Day three is a tale of two walks, starting with a morning ascent to the tallest peak of the Porongurup range. The 5 km trek taking around 4 hours through diverse landscapes, most notably grand moss-covered granite boulders, leads you to Nancy’s Peak. The views from the top are spectacular, and on clear days the Southern Ocean can even be seen. Post-walk, enjoy a leisurely lunch at Ironwood Winery. After a small taste of the local wine paired perfectly with cheeses and other delights, you will make your way to the final walk of the day. Castle Rock, a 3 km walk that promises more stunning views from the Skywalk, suspended over the granite cliffs. The path climbs through Jarrah, Marri, and Karri Forest, giving you another opportunity to marvel at the unique flora of the area. Returning to the Hotel, the evening celebrates your journey with an exquisite dinner accompanied by perfect wines, reflecting on the day’s adventures and the beauty of the Porongurup range.
TRANSFER TIMES: Morning: 40 minute transfer from accommodation to Mt Trio. Lunch: 1 hour transfer from Mt Trio to Henry Jones Winey and Café. Afternoon: 3.5 hour transfer to Perth.
TRACK DETAILS: Mt Trio – 3.5kms, 2-3 hours with breaks. Medium/Difficult grade.
TERRAIN: This is a short and steep hike has a total ascent of 400 metres and lots of steps along the way.
WALK ITINERARY: The final day begins with breakfast at your hotel before setting off to conquer Mt Trio. This short but steep trail offers a challenging last walk in the Stirling Ranges, capturing the essence of the region’s natural beauty one last time. After taking in the stunning views from the top, you make your way back down, surrounded by the unique landscapes of the Stirling Ranges. Lunch at Henry Jones Winery and Café offers a palette of local flavours, paired with wines that encapsulate the spirit of the region. It’s a moment to savour the journey’s experiences, flavours, and friendships made. As you journey back to Perth, the landscapes outside your window serve as a moving canvas, reminding you of the adventures you had, and the memories made in the heart of Western Australia’s wilderness.
