Known for its series of terraced lakes linked by crystal-clear waterfalls and surrounded by dense woodland, Plitvice Lakes National Park feels like something lifted straight from a fairytale.

Wooden walkways and footbridges wind gently across the water, bringing you close enough to hear the soft rush of the falls and watch the lakes shift in colour throughout the day – from deep sapphire blue to luminous shades of turquoise and emerald. The constantly changing hues are created by minerals in the water and the way sunlight interacts with the lakes, making every view feel slightly different from the last.

The park’s remarkable karst landscape, formed over thousands of years by limestone and water, is one of the reasons it has earned international recognition as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
