Our Cherry Blossom sale is now live and offers you the chance to save up to four hundred dollars per person on any of our Japan pack free guided walks.
It is an ideal opportunity to secure excellent value while choosing from our carefully curated collection of walking holidays. Among the highlights are two remarkable routes along the historic Kumano Kodo.
This ancient pilgrim trail is more than one thousand years old and crosses the beautiful mountains of the Kii Peninsula on the island of Honshu. It remains one of the most spiritually significant walking routes in Japan and continues to attract travellers who wish to experience a slower and more reflective journey.
Our 7-day Kumano Kodo Nakahechi Route invites you to explore a region recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site. As you follow the trail through quiet mountain forests you will encounter the revered Grand Shrines that lie hidden within the deep green landscape.
The journey opens with a gentle section of the northern trail that leads to Koyasan, a serene temple town where traditional wooden halls and peaceful cemeteries create an atmosphere that feels unchanged for centuries.
You then continue south along the imperial Nakahechi Route where history, spirituality and traditional culture appear in every bend of the path.
Our 7-day Kumano Kodo Iseji Route connects the sacred sites of Ise Jingu and Kumano Sanzan which are at the centre of the Shinto faith. This route presents a varied landscape that moves between mountain slopes and dramatic coastal views. Along the way you will pass through small fishing communities, terraced farmland and forests rich in native plants.
Both journeys have been designed with great care. Private transfers offer more comfort and flexibility, and we have chosen the finest accommodation in each region. Each tour promises memorable experiences that will bring you closer to the essence of Japanese culture and the timeless beauty of its landscapes.
