Three new tropical walks on offer!
Life’s An Adventure has launched no less than three pack-free guided walks in tropical Queensland and the 7-day Whitsundays Sail and Walk is a doozey!
Starting the adventure with a walk on a section of the Whitsundays Great Walk where we’ll see expansive views out to the the 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays that you’ll be exploring some of, over the next few days.
Our unique base for this journey is on the historic tallship Solway Lass where you will sail through the Whitsundays taking in vistas of aqua-marine water, lush tropical islands and white sparkling beaches. The Whitsunday Islands National Park and adjacent waters are part of the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. The first and largest World Heritage Area in Australia.
Whilst island hopping enjoy a variety of varied trails taking in incredible vistas. Highlights include visiting Whitehaven Beach, Hill Inlet Lookout as well as enjoying plenty of snorkelling.
Next up is the the 7-day Tropics World Heritage walk in FNQ exploring the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.
You’ll see postcard-perfect views of roaring waterfalls, crystal-clear waters, gigantic tropical trees, sprawling mangroves and long, golden beaches.
As an added highlight of this tour takes you to hike out on Dunk Island with the daily possibility of seeing cassowaries, dugongs, tree-kangaroos, and a veritable host of other animals, this tour brings you as close to a literal paradise on earth as you can get.
And how’s this for accommodation: 1 night at the Shangri-La Hotel, Cairns; 2 nights in Heritage Lodge in the Daintree; 2 nights in Eden House Retreat, Atherton Tablelands and 2 nights at Castaways Resort and Spa, Mission Beach. Luxury!
And finally, we have the Mackay Highlands, which starts off by exploring the mist-shrouded and forest-clad mountain refuge of Eungella National Park.
Following lunch, you continue the walk to Broken River to your accommodation, with platypus spotting in the afternoon.
Dat two walk begins from Broken River Mountain Resort where you rejoin the Mackay Highlands Great Walk for an 11km bushwalk. You walk alongside Broken River, stopping to enjoy reflections in calm sections before stepping out from the rainforest to follow the track markers through farming communities to Crediton Hall.
The next day you’re driven down the range to Finch Hatton Gorge for a lush 5km walk
and swim. Lunch is at the Finch Hatton Hotel before returning to Mackay for a walk from South Sea Islander Hut in the Botanical Gardens to the CBD along the Blue River Trail.
On day four you travel north to Cape Hillsborough where the day is spent exploring four walks which all have an Aboriginal history. Lunch is at the Cape Hillsborough Resort, returning in the evening to your accommodation in Mackay.
