It’s time to hunt for truffles!
If you’ve ever held a freshly unearthed truffle in your hand, you’ll recognise the moment immediately: that deep, earthy fragrance with its rich, musky intensity.

Some call it sensual; others say it conjures the scent of woodland after rainfall. However you describe it, one thing is certain — the aroma of truffles is truly unforgettable.

And the flavour is every bit as remarkable. Truffles have the power to transform even the simplest dish into something refined and memorable.
On our 10-day Slovenia’s Julian Alps & Croatia’s Plitvice National Park pack-free guided walk, you’ll awaken every sense as you venture into the forests of Istria in search of these treasured delicacies.
After the hunt, you’ll take part in a hands-on cookery class, learning to create traditional dishes infused with the distinctive flavour of fresh truffle. The experience ends with a relaxed lunch, thoughtfully paired with local wines, celebrating the rich culinary heritage of the region. Delicious indeed.
This is just one of many memorable moments on the journey. You’ll also stay on the shores of Lake Bled, among Slovenia’s most iconic alpine landscapes. Encircled by forested hills and the Julian Alps, its emerald waters and charming island church seem lifted from the pages of a fairy tale.
Along the Adriatic coast, wander the cobbled streets and scenic promenades of Rovinj, where pastel-coloured houses cascade towards the sea. Further inland, explore the gently rolling Istrian countryside, scattered with vineyards, olive groves and medieval hilltop villages.
You’ll also discover one of Europe’s most extraordinary natural wonders with a guided visit to the UNESCO-listed Škocjan Caves. Venture deep into a vast subterranean world carved by the Reka River, where immense chambers, striking rock formations and one of the largest underground canyons on Earth create a truly awe-inspiring experience.
With flexible walking options, characterful accommodation and exceptional cuisine, this tour showcases the remarkable landscapes and cultures of southern Europe.
