It’s the battle of the châteaus!
It’s the battle of the châteaus!
On our 8-day French Le Puy Camino pack-free guided walk we have not one, not two but three châteaus on your accommodation itinerary!
But the question is which one is best? Spoiler: They’re all amazing or you wouldn’t be staying there but for a bit of fun let’s see what one trumps the others.
First up we have Château de Mercuès a historic 13th-century castle (yes a castle!) offering stunning views of the Lot Valley.
It combines medieval architecture with luxurious modern amenities. Known for its exceptional wine production, the château features a Michelin-starred restaurant and is renowned for its elegant accommodations and rich history.
Next up we have the Château de Labro, a charming 17th-century castle (another castle – but not as old as the Mercuès) nestled in the heart of the French countryside.
Surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills, it offers a peaceful retreat with elegant rooms, gourmet dining, and a relaxing atmosphere.
The château is also known for its beautiful gardens and stunning views, making it a perfect escape for nature lovers and history enthusiasts alike.
And finally there’s the Le Chateau D’Orfeuillette La Garde, a beautiful 19th-century château (this one’s just a baby!), set amidst serene countryside.
Surrounded by lush gardens and rolling hills, it offers a tranquil, luxurious retreat.
The château is known for its elegant architecture, peaceful atmosphere, and unique charm, making it a perfect destination for you lot after a day on the trail.
So what would you vote for? Well the most impressive to look at is the Château de Mercuès, it’s like a mini Versailles but the other two are nothing to sniff at!
And the winner is…. any guest on this tour! Three châteaus on one tour. How good is that!
