Discover Flinders Island – Tassie’s best kept secret

Did you know that until about 12,000 years ago, during the final stages of the Ice Age, it was possible to walk from mainland Australia to Tasmania?

A natural rock arch stands over clear blue waters along a rocky coastline, surrounded by greenery, under a bright blue sky in Tasmania—perfect for Lifes An Adventure walking tours.

A land bridge once connected these two lands across what is now the Bass Strait. However, as the ice caps melted and sea levels rose, this natural connection vanished, leaving behind a series of scattered islands known as the Furneaux Group. The largest island in this group is Flinders Island.
