Life’s An Adventure began 22 years ago, with Mark and Vicki Norek working from a small granny flat while raising their two children.

Those early days meant juggling emails and logistics with the hands-on demands of running tours. One thing, however, has never changed: their commitment to providing a quality experience for every guest.

“Despite the early challenges, we always prioritised our values, ensuring our tours were unique and delivered a ‘wow’ experience,” says Mark. “We always strive to provide the best possible accommodation, food and wine. And to do this, we experience every tour ourselves at least once.”

Company Director Mark, a proud Tasmanian, has been passionate about hiking since his school days, when he led his high school bushwalking club. His love of the outdoors continued into adulthood, often walking with Vicki.

“However, to get Vicki to join me more often, I realised the experience needed to be about more than just walking,” says Mark. “So I added comfort and special touches – footbaths, fine wine and Vicki’s favourite liqueur, Baileys! This transformed our walks into something she genuinely looked forward to.”

That simple idea became the foundation for Life’s An Adventure, which Mark launched in 2004. The goal was straightforward: create walking experiences that were immersive, comfortable and memorable, with plenty of little extras along the way.

“That’s how we introduced our signature pack-free walking experience, ensuring our guests could enjoy incredible landscapes without the burden of carrying heavy packs,” says Vicki.

The couple also recognised the importance of great guides. “Our guides are the most critical component of the business,” says Mark. “They must be passionate storytellers who go above and beyond for guests.”

Another standout feature is the flexibility built into Life’s An Adventure tours. Walking options can cater for different fitness levels, helping guests enjoy the experience at their own pace.
