Our fantastic 3 day guided Six Foot Track Walk journeys from the Blue Mountains to Jenolan Caves. Winding through State forests and national parks, the 6 Foot track walk follows the 44 kilometre route of the original 1884 Bridal track between Katoomba and Jenolan Caves.
A Truly Supported Walk
This walk has been designed for those looking for a guided multi day walking experience with everything done for you, so you can focus on enjoying the walk. Our guests won’t be asked to carry their clothes or overnight bags for the entire tour, these will be transported for you each day. This is a big advantage for our guests, in that you will avoid carrying a heavy rucksack on your back every day. With Life’s An Adventure you will carry as little as your water bottle, camera and lunch each day!
An ideal combination of accommodation
Due to the remoteness of this area, spend one night at the Six Foot Track Bushwalkers Eco Lodge and one night in a Grand Classic room with ensuite at the Jenolan Caves House. A fantastic place to enjoy a good night’s sleep and a hot shower after a day’s walk.
This walk features an Aussie BBQ lunch at the charming Dryridge Estate in the Megalong Valley, with spectacular views of the Blue Mountains escarpment this is a perfect place to relax and enjoy lunch, enjoy wine tasting and look back at how far we have covered that morning walking. Once we reach Jenolan Caves you will enjoy a tour of the amazing limestone formations of Jenolan Caves during a guided tour.
Our tours are designed to be personal and intimate with a maximum group size of 12
We call our guides CEOs – Chief Experience Officers and it’s their job to ensure your walking tour lives up to to your expectations. Dan our head guide on this tour is one of our most favourite guides due to his warm personality and passion for guiding. As an ex journalist he has a wealth of knowledge and a thirst for history, enabling him to make this area come to life as you travel through the landscape.
Fabulous meals featuring local produce
Where possible we source the majority of our foods from this region including fabulous wine, locally produced cereals and meats. Once at Jenolan Caves you will enjoy dinner in the charming Chisholm’s Restaurant featuring modern cuisine served with white and red wines.
We meet at the historic Carrington Hotel In Katoomba for our walking briefing at 8.30am. We then head near the Explorer Tree and follow the main track down to the clifftop lookout above the gorge of Nellies Glen from here you look down the Megalong Creek Valley in the direction you will be walking.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at the Dryridge Estate Winery the Megalong Valley with spectacular views back towards the Blue Mountains escarpment. We continue through the valley and cross the Bowtells Swing Suspension bridge to Coxs River ‐ bring your swimmers as this is a great place to take a dip and revitalise in the crystal clear waters.
Tonight we will stay at a remote eco bushwalking lodge overlooking Coxs River, here enjoy a wonderful dinner prepared by your guides including fresh salmon and swap stories with your travelling companions.

We begin with 3kms of steep track before morning tea. We continue up towards Black Range ridge then enjoy a lunch stop to re-energise at Mini Mini Saddle. When we arrive at the top of Black Range we transfer the short distance to Jenolan Caves House for overnight accommodation. After a refreshing shower, join the group in the delightful Chisholm’s Restaurant to enjoy a two course meal featuring local produce and wine, and chat about the day’s adventures.
After breakfast we enjoy a guided tour of the Temple of Baal Cave, renowned for its beauty and spectacular features. We enter the Temple of Baal Cave via the ‘Binoomea Cut’ a long manmade tunnel. Then, they travel down the ‘Dragon’s Throat’, via a dramatic winding staircase. There are 2 massive chambers, one 42 metres high and filled with beautiful formations. One of these formations, the 9 metre tall ‘Angel’s Wing’ shawl, is one of the largest cave shawls in the world. The cave also offers beautiful examples of crystal helictites.
Afterwards we finish the last section of our walk along the steep fire trail from Carlotta Arch to Binoomera Ridge. On the way we stop for lunch, where we may be visited by the friendly local kangaroos. We arrive at Black Range the end of our walk.
