3 day six foot track guided walk itinerary Join us on a guided walk of the famous Six Foot Track from the Blue Mountains to Jenolan Caves. Our tours run in both directions Katoomba to Jenolan Caves or reverse. The itinerary below outlines the forward direction - on popular long weekend departures we may run two departures - one running in the reverse direction.
Day 1: Walk 15kms ‐ approximately 6 hours We start our walk near the Explorer Tree and follow the main track down to the clifftop lookout above the gorge of Nellies Glen from here you look down the Megalong Creek Valley in the direction you will be walking. Enjoy a delicious lunch in the Megalong Valley with spectacular views back towards the Blue Mountains escarpment. We continue through the valley and cross the Bowtells Swing Suspension bridge to Coxs River ‐ bring your swimmers as this is a great place to take a dip and revitalise in the crystal clear waters. Tonight we will stay at a bushwalking lodge overlooking Coxs River, here we will enjoyable gourmet dinner with wine and swap stories with your travelling companions.
Day 2: Walk 19kms ‐ approximately 7 hours Enjoy a delicious breakfast. A challenging morning awaits with 3kms of steep track rising over 400 metres climbing the slope from little river to the ridge of Black Range. Enjoy a lunch stop to reenergize before continuing on. Our walk follows the fire trail along Black Range passing through wooded country. Relax when you arrive at your campsite with a glass of wine, (If you have chosen a Deluxe or Super Deluxe Package your tent will be set up and ready for you).
Day 3: Walk 10kms ‐ approximately 4 hours We walk along the steep fire trail down Binoomera Ridge passing Carlotta Arch before arriving at Jenolan Caves between approximately 1.30 - 2.00pm. Free time is available. Lunch can be purchased at the kiosk at Jenolan Caves House ‐ at your own expense. Time also available to explore these amazing caves ‐ bring additional money if you wish to view the caves . Prices start from $27 per person. Return transfers to the caves will leave at 3pm sharp (by an external transfer company), arriving ack into Katoomba at approximately 4.30pm.
