The mountain bike ride along the Newnes Plateau has amazing scenery and gentle trails through open forests. We'll explore breathtaking beauty and sites of a bygone era including the Glow Worm Tunnel, the Wolgan Railway and the haunting ghost town of Newnes an amazing testimony to what was once the thriving oil shale industry. Beautiful scenery abounds on this bike ride as we explore winding canyons, the Wolgan River and Newnes plateau. A great day out and a fantastic way to make new friends.

There are a few options to get you to the meeting point...

Driving: Drive to Lithgow Train Station. For driving directions click on the Red Icon "A" on the map above and select "Get Directions to Here" and enter in your address in the text field provided. Once all attendees have arrived we will all drive to the starting place for the walking adventure.

Train: Catch the train which gets in to Lithgow at 8.48 am. For train timetables visit www.131500.com

We provide fresh fruit and snacks to enjoy
during your ride, riding tuition and a delicious lunch. 

what to bring

Bring your own mountain bike (an extra charge applies to those
needing bike hire). To ensure you keep well hydrated, please
bring at least 1.5 litres of drinking water.

what to wear

Please wear comfortable and non restrictive clothing for riding
(no jeans), wear a bike helmet and any protective
clothing/accessories.
