Grand Canyon

Walk the unique Grand Canyon in the Blue Mountains a beautiful place rich in ferns, trees, moss covered logs and the special atmosphere only a rainforest area can create. On this fabulous bushwalk you'll also experience magnificent canyons, fern gullys, tunnels carved through rocks, waterfalls and panoramic views of Grose Canyon. Enjoy a delicious picnic lunch, meet new friends and join us for a well earned drink at the Ivanhoe Pub at the end of the bush walk.
WHEN:

Sunday 17th August 2008
Meet at 10:00am.
(Please note: we will endeavour to start the walk as soon as possible, please expect up to 20 minutes to go through safety talks, discuss the outline of the walk, register everyone and wait for those who may have been delayed before we begin walking).
Finishes approximately 4:00pm.

MEETING POINT:

Meet at the Ivanhoe Hotel, Govetts Leap Road, Blackheath, Blue Mountains. Look out for Marky Mark & Dean who will be wearing Life's An Adventure t'shirts.

Please note we will need to leave some cars at the meeting point in order to car pool to the start of the walk, these will be picked up at the end of the walk.

TRANSPORT:

There are a few options to get you to the start of this walk.
Driving: Drive by car & meet us at the Ivanhoe Hotel.

Car Pooling: We can organise car pooling if required so please email us if you need to be picked up. Also if you are driving and prepared to help with car pooling please let us know.

Train: Catch the train to Blackheath from Central Station, visit www.131500.com.au for more details.

INCLUSIONS: Enjoy a fun day out and make new friends. We provide a snack pack to enjoy during your walk and a delicious picnic lunch.

PAY ON THE DAY: For those who choose to pay on the day at the walk, you will need to email us with your intention to attend, as this is a catered event and we need to ensure we have ample food. Simply click on the link below to advise us you are attending. Please mention 'Jungle Walk' in the subject line and include the number of people in your group. Please be aware this event may sell out, so we recommend guaranteeing your place by pre-paying.

WHAT TO BRING: We suggest bringing a backpack to carry all your personal items. You may like to bring a camera to capture the amazing scenery you'll experience along the way. To ensure you keep well hydrated, please bring at least 1.5 litres of drinking water (on extremely hot days double this amount). We also recommend a hat and sunscreen and if you want to enjoy the falls, bring your swimming costume and a towel.
WHAT TO WEAR:

Please wear comfortable clothes, hat and enclosed walking shoes. Wear clothes to maintain a comfortable body temperature, we suggest not wearing jeans as you may overheat. High heeled shoes, thongs, sandals or skimpy shoes should not be used.

FITNESS LEVEL: BUSHWALK GRADE: Medium to Hard
Medium to hard bushwalk with some hilly sections an/or rougher terrain. Opportunity for walkers to bushwalk in undisturbed natural environments mostly along defined and distinct tracks with several steep sections requiring good level of fitness. This is a 14km walk.
If you are unsure that your fitness level is suitable for this event, please email us to qualify your ability. 
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT RAINS?

This walk will still go ahead if it rains (Bring a light weight wet weather jacket if there looks likes there is a chance of rain), however if the weather is extreme the walk will be postponed to a future date. Pre-paid tickets will be credited to the new date or another future event, sorry we cannot refund your money.

When you arrive on the day, you will need to check in with your Life's An Adventure Staff. You must sign for any pre-paid tickets or pay cash if you have chosen the 'pay on the day' option and fill in our indemnity form.
